Route One Study

The Planning Department kicked off a Route One Corridor Study last month. The purpose of this study is to make the Route 1 corridor from Downtown Saco to Pleasant Hill Road in Scarborough safe and accessible for all travel modes, including motor vehicles, transit users, bicyclists, and pedestrians. Making the corridor more accessible will stimulate economic development, reduce vehicle delay, and improve safety for all users.

A meeting summary and a quick survey are available on the Town’s Website —  Click here to link to study page.

American Communities Survey

The 2017 American Communities Survey data set is now available through the Census Bureau’s American Fact-Finder.  This data set is a treasure of amazing statistics about the the Town, the Region and the state.  Click here to visit the site.

If you are looking for Town of Scarborough info, make sure to select Town of Scarborough in the advanced search area.  Do not select the Scarborough CDP, that gives you data for the Oak Hill area, not the Town.

If you need help, call SEDCO and we can walk you through the data set.

MEREDA Showcase

SEDCO will be exhibiting at the Maine Real Estate and Development Association’s annual conference  next week on January 17th.   Each January, over 900 of the state’s real estate experts attend MEREDA’s Annual Forecast Conference & Member Showcase.  The conference brings together the largest gathering of commercial real estate professionals in Maine, and is specifically geared toward developers, brokers, architects, bankers, attorneys, accountants, and other industry professionals. Each year, MEREDA assembles some of Maine’s top real estate leaders to provide an economic overview and outlook on the profession’s key economic indicators, along with the popular market overview by property type, focusing on both commercial and residential real estate forecasts.
